A Plan 9 grid built from vintage Apple hardware.

#Servers

tanna (Mac Mini 2018, A1993)(file server): Central storage. Venti/Fossil for Plan 9 native archival, ZFS mirror for bulk. Holds papers, code, media, backups. Every other node mounts this.

eros (Mac Mini 2018, A1993)(cpu server): General compute. Builds, batch jobs, theorem proving, typesetting. Runs factotum and serves cpu auth for the grid.

criswell (Mac Mini 2018, A1993)(ai server): Local inference. LLMs, embedding models, vector search, RAG pipelines. Kept separate so GPU memory pressure never starves eros.

#Terminals

Mac Mini (2018, A1993)(primary): Intel, sits on the desk. Drawterm or 9front native. Main daily driver for the grid.

MacBook Pro (mid-2012, A1278)(mobile): Portable access. Drawterm over wireguard when remote, direct mount on LAN.

Both terminals are stateless. Everything lives on tanna, computes on eros or criswell. If a terminal dies, plug in another and mount.

#Future

A fourth node for ingest/archival (scraping, OCR, media processing) may be added later, or merged into eros if the workload stays light.
