<h1>Adding a new user</h1>
<p>Let's add a user called <code>TAGE</code> (named after the guy from the "Dage med Tage" sketch), with the password <code>linie</code>.</p>
<ul>

Login as someone who has rights to do this sort of thing, such as <code>HERC01</code>

Navigate to <code>SYS2.JCLLIB(ADDUSER)</code>
</li><li>
Tweak it as needed, so the last line is <code>//ADDUSER EXEC ADDUSER,HLQ=TAGE,UTYPE=USER</code>

<p>The username is specified after <code>HLQ</code>, and the user type here is <code>USER</code>, but it could also have been <code>SYSP</code>.</p>

Submit the job (write <code>SUBMIT</code> on the <code>Command ===></code> line and hit enter).

Navigate to <code>SYS1.SECURE.CNTL(USERS)</code> and add a new line with the contents <code>TAGE USER ABCD N</code> (the fields must line up with the rest of the file, and <code>ABCD</code> is the password).

<h1>Changing password</h1>
<p>To change your password, connect to the mainframe and at the <code>Logon ===></code> prompt, type your username. Instead of replying with your password, reply with <code>linie/snaps</code>, where <code>linie</code> is your current password, and <code>snaps</code> is your new password.</p>
<h1><code>/s rakfuser</code> (IMPORTANT)</h1>
<p>To make any of the changes effective, you must run <code>/s rakfuser</code> on the mvs console (the linux terminal session where <code>./mvs</code> is running).</p>
